Pastor John absolutely loves his wife and the local church. After over 13 years of following a passion to reach people for Jesus, God led John and his wife Ceci back to Metro Detroit with the vision to start New Anthem Church. He loves God and loves people deeply, with a passion to see the lost meet Jesus. John also loves concerts, disc golf, and late night worship sessions.
Ceci Pomeroy
Ceci is passionate about glorifying God through creativity, helping people find their gifts and get plugged in to serve, and showing the love of Jesus to the world by loving the community. She loves her husband John, her dog Vera, fancy coffee, concerts, and trying out new recipes.
Christine loves connecting with people and hearing their stories. She’s moved 25 times, has been married to David 28 years, was a stay-at-home mom for most of her girls’ growing-up years, and has had a variety of fun jobs since then. She has a fondness for the arts, painting, gardening, cooking, and pretty much anything creative.
David’s goal is to use his management experience to help keep everything at New Anthem running smoothly. David is married to Christine, is the father of Cecilia, Katherine, and Evelyn, and is the father-in-law of John and Daniel. David is a huge film buff, loves to watch soccer and college football, and has been accused by his family of occasionally speaking to them exclusively in film quotes.
Jed is a resident youth director for New Anthem Church. He loves the youth and is excited to build relationships within our community. He is pursuing a degree in youth ministry online. He definitely drinks way too much coffee, but he doesn’t think so. He enjoys photography and videography, as well as audio and lighting production.
Alyssa is the administration and communication resident for New Anthem Church. She has a passion for people and their stories and will be pursuing biblical counseling in the future. She loves being around others and learning new things about the world. She also has a very apparent and unusual obsession with petting dogs and eating freeze-dried apples.
Extra Steps for a Safer Church Experience as We Return to In-Person Services June 28
As we return to in-person services on Sunday, June 28, we wanted to share some of the steps we will be taking to promote a safer and healthier environment:
Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces before each service
Physical distancing inside the auditorium
Masks are required as you walk into the building; you may remove them once you get to your seat if you wish
Hand sanitizer stations throughout the lobby area
No more self-service coffee, but coffee will be available and dispensed by volunteers wearing gloves and masks
Anthem Kids has returned in-person during the 11am service, and we will continue to upload the kids’ message to our website every week
We ask that if you are not feeling well to please stay home in order to help keep everyone safe
We will continue to livestream our entire worship service on Facebook and YouTube so that if you are not feeling well or would just feel more comfortable at home for now you can continue to worship with New Anthem and hear the Word.
June 13
We are so excited to be gearing up to meet again for in-person services, beginning June 28. We will have services at 9&11am at Mount Clemens High School once again. We are making some changes to help promote a more safe and healthy experience, including cleaning between services, physical distancing in the auditorium, and hand sanitizing stations. Anthem Kids will continue to meet online for the time being, but kids can be in service with their family or we will have a family room provided that will also have the service streamed to it. If you aren’t feeling well, please stay home, and for anyone who isn’t able to or doesn’t feel comfortable to attend in person yet, that’s okay! We will continue livestreaming every Sunday on both Facebook and YouTube.
We are so glad we have the opportunity to see each other in person and, for those who feel comfortable returning, we can’t wait to see you!
